United Hardware Limited (UHL), the DIY and hardware group which supplies and operates the Homevalue brand in Ireland, has announced that it has joined the Irish Green Building Council (IGBC) as a Silver Member.
The partnership will see the two organisations work together to identify and support opportunities to build a more sustainable environment, strengthening United Hardware’s commitment to climate action and greener building.
Membership of IGBC:
As part of the membership, United Hardware will work with the IGBC to identify and propose, solutions to the challenges and opportunities faced in building, renovating, and upgrading Irish homes and businesses and to support the IGBC and their ambition to accelerate the transformation of the built environment, related industry, and supply chain to one that is sustainable.
United Hardware and Homevalue stores, will now work to support IGBC to develop a more sustainable built environment and support the transformation of the Irish building, construction, and property sector into a global leader in quality and sustainability.
A number of areas which are being focused on as part of the collaboration, include:
- Promoting healthier and greener homes through sustainable finance
- Advancing green public procurement
- Education and support
- Supporting and enabling a circular economy within the construction sector
- Upskilling in energy efficiency, circularity, and the digital economy.
- Supporting the ‘Home performance Index’
